Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a strong kick-off in what’s shaping up to be one of the greatest years in RPG gaming. After having played through the entire game, the podcast is left asking: Why is this game titled Infinite Wealth?

Kasuga and Kiryu certainly use a lot of money throughout their adventure, but at no point is it a central focus of the game. Even for the main antagonist, the accumulation of wealth is not a motivation for their actions. We’ll just leave this burning question to be addressed at a future date because this episodes sole motivation is to talk about all of our favourite things about this wonderful game.

Heed this warning, everything and anything is on the table when it comes to this episode on Infinite Wealth. Whether it’s the development of our favourite characters or a critique of the structure of the story, The Thirsty Mage gets deep into the weeds after running the streets of Hawaii and Kamurocho for forty odd hours.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth sets new heights for the Yakuza franchise, but where does it fall when compared to other great titles of the genre. Conclusion

Studio RGG has always been successful at creating a rewarding and entertaining experience for each entry of the Yakuza series, but Infinite Wealth certainly stands as its crowning achievement. The transition from action based to turn-based combat was a huge gamble that has paid off in spades.
